Hitting All Art Museums in Hartford CT

Hartford CT is full of art and history, hence, it's no surprise that everywhere you turn, there's always something magnificent that captures your eye. Despite being a modern city quite unlike many others in the country, the concrete jungle is far less ominous here. It almost seems as though one could call up a Hartford CT charter bus rental company for a group trip just to see all the museums there is to see. That is also why when suggestions were made about making a trip to Hartford, the thought of exploring the Connecticut Art Trail popped into our heads.

Visiting fifteen world-class international-standard art museums and historical sites all in one day? Can we stomach it even if the thought of it sounded interesting? Yes, we could...and we did.

We came off understanding more about Hartford than we bargained for and when you knew as much about a place like this, you'll end up loving it and having fond memories of it. We could have paid for an art pass which would have been cheaper but we did not since we'd already rented a charter bus from our favorite Hartford CT charter bus rental company. So, it was off we go the moment the charter bus rental company called to confirm our ride. We hit Bruce Museum first which was located in Greenwich; the museum had lots of exhibitions of fine art, photography and natural science. Sitting near the Long Island Sound, it was strategically located too. When we went to Weir Farm National Historic Site, it was more than just an artistic experience. The sound of laughing kids and chatting adults doing their thing, walking, hiking, watching birds, picnicking, running...they all came home with us as well. It was a fantastic experience.

If stuff from the Elizabethan era enticed you, a trip to Yale Center for British Art is definitely a MUST. You'll see everything from sculptures, books, scriptures, paintings and even seemingly simple drawings and sketches. On the other hand, it looks as though Mattatuck Museum Arts & History Center is a little more current. According to their representatives, the museum plays a huge role in educating the community and engaging them in activities that helps them understand the past so that they have a more informed future.

With the charter bus we rented from our Hartford CT charter bus rental company, we also made stops at Lyman Allyn Art Museum, Slater Memorial Museum, Hill-Stead Museum and the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art.

It was, indeed, an eye-opening, interesting and informative group trip for all of us.
