Pagliuca's Restaurant Incorporated (Boston MA)

Yearning for the crunchiness of real hand-rolled pasta without the extranomous pricing? Love to hang out in a warm and a REAL Italian restaurant atmosphere? Well, I have just the place for this – Pagliuca's Restaurant Incorporated tucked into a neat little corner in North End. I've heard about this place for the longest time but never found the time to visit it. This Boston MA restaurant's name remains in my head for all the time that I think of great food with fantastic pricing.

Was I disappointed with Pagliuca's? Absolutely not! In fact, I was bowled over, mainly because of the nondescript décor and size that led me on to believe that it was probably nothing to shout about. If I were to be fair, I would say that it feels a lot like being in an Italian home waiting for an Italian mom to bring out dinner. Yes, there was a very homely feeling to it – which, I am guessing, is good in every way if we don't like fanfare and sterile surrounding.

While the appearance is nondescript and understated, there is nothing usual about the quality of the food. The seafood gets your saliva gland working the moment it is placed in front of you. It tastes like it was just plucked out of the sea and the chicken entrees were yummy too.

Frankly, if there was a gripe, it wouldn't be about the food, it would be about the service. However, we were met with a busy host who was looked like he was holding down a fort, single-handedly. So, can't say I blame him. The food more than made up for it. We had stuff like eggplant Parm, Alfredo, mussels, bottles of wine and to-die-for dessert. Oh, I am forgetting the salad with a generous helping of cheese and toppings too.

It is a quaint little place that looks a whole lot like what a real Italian kitchen and restaurant should be. We did not have the pleasure of meeting the owner because we were there during the peak hours but the food, as we said, leaves many more memories for us to bring home to. So, we WILL be heading back to Boston's Pagiuca's when we get the chance to organize another Boston MA group trip.
