Save Your Yen For Washington DC's Cherry Blossom Festival

Take a look at tourism marketing materials for Japan and you will soon see that one of the biggest draw to the country's tourism industry is their cherry blossom festival. When the cherry blossoms decide to bloom, you can expect crowds and lots of charter buses hanging around waiting for the enthusiastic tourists to finish their rounds of picture-taking.

Here in the United States, although we don't make too much of a fanfare out of the festival, we have our very own cherry blossom festival and it is right here in our state capital of Washington DC.
Suffice to say, the state's been working on promoting their cherry blossom festival in an effort to give their tourism industry a boost. The festival celebrates or commemorates the gift of cherry trees the same way the Japanese do. Ever since the state's active promotion of the cherry blossom festival, millions of tourists and local holiday-goers make their way there. Our Washington DC charter bus rental customers are no different. Rather than spend their days trawling the malls, they spend half a day outside with the stunning landscape and flowers.

What's really different about the one in Washington DC is that it is far more westernized and there is also an art exhibition.

Authorities and experts spend the year monitoring the flowers, trying to predict when they will come into full bloom. However, much of it has to be left to nature and chance. So, if you 'chance onto' a cherry blossom festival, you are really lucky. Washington DC's famous National Park Service Horticulturists hawk over the flowers and provide updates through their website.

It doesn't help that the flowers have a mind of their own and is almost impossible to gauge, so, the experts just base it on an average date. What with our unpredictable weather and nature these days, it makes planning for the cherry blossom festival really hard.

Ah well....as long as you organize your trip with Washington DC charter bus rental service in and around the middle of March to mid April, you might just catch it in full bloom.
