City Pizza (Hartford CT)

How many days can you get by with take-out food and fast-food? The answer is approximately a week. This doesn't include those who are hard-core fast-food lovers because hard core people can usually go for months on food served quickly over the counter.
Eating out in Hartford CT is not a problem at all, that's not what I am saying but being in the travel industry means that we have many, many places to go to and despite having the luxury of using good Hartford CT charter bus rental services, finding a good place to eat can be a problem when you're not a local.

But here's a place that I would completely recommend you eat in whenever you're in Hartford. There's this place called City Pizza located right on Farmington Ave which is simply a gem. You won't assume much when you get there because there is an unassuming atmosphere here. No fanfare, no big signboard, no quirky waiters and waitresses, in fact, no website. Yes, can you believe it that a place or restaurant in the United States could survive without a website or Facebook account in this current times?

The place survives based on loyalty and also they are deadly serious about making good pizza. They're all about giving you pizzas so fantastic pizza that you will remember for a long time to come.

Anyway, the place, when we got there, isn't big. Just a nice little nook but since we were there during lunch hour, it was pretty crowded. Based on the crowd, you can tell that some of them are real regulars. If a restaurant or cafe has its own regular crowd, it has to be worth something, I always say. So, we don't really know what to order from the menu although there were so many different types of pizza, so we ask the waiter what would he recommend.

The friendly waiter said that City Pizza is known for their buffalo chicken pizza.

Growing up on Dominos makes you kind of 'stiff' when it comes to pizza and since I don't have anything on buffalo wings, I thought that it would be good fun to have it on pizza served with melting cheese on top.

And boy and boy, it was one of the best pizzas and I have ever tasted! Incredibly tasty, not too salty with perfect crusts. Maybe it's the best, I don't know. Overall, the pizza is good, the staff quite friendly (if not busy) and not too stuffy. I would strongly recommend this place to all of our Hartford CT charter bus rental customers.
