Spondivits (Atlanta GA)

We wanted a place where we could relax after a long day of visiting touristy places in Atlanta and we got Spondivits. Can't say enough good things about this establishment despite the fact that we completely chanced upon it based on the recommendation from our charter bus driver. Having eaten mostly fast food (no time to research on nice eateries out here in Atlanta) for the past few days, we were ready for a change.
Along Virginia Ave, our charter bus driver dropped the lot of us off while we wandered around for a while and finally found Spondivits. Not only is it a famous seafood restaurant, it is also a fantastic bar and lounge too, as we soon discovered. As we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly personnel and were politely asked to wait for a table (we did not book in advance).

The ambiance was very frenetic. Everyone was happy, loud, joyful and at the table next to us, someone was definitely celebrating something! Despite the classy setting, it was very casual and simple. Being a bit of a purist, I ordered my clams and oysters fresh, others wanted theirs steamed or fried. When you eat your food uncooked, the freshness of the ingredients is absolutely crucial – and mine was literally picked right out of the sea! Absolutely, wonderfully fresh.

To the side, there were rooms for parties and private functions so, here is an option for you to hold a birthday party, anniversary or even a bachelor party. The drinks are not cheap, though. Despite that, the food made up for everything.

Oh, to be recommended are their crab cakes – we had to order another plate just to share it amongst us. It had a crunchy outer layer and soft inside – just the way crab cakes should be.

We spent the entire day in the rented charter bus, going to places like CNN and Coca-Cola, so, naturally, a few drinks were ordered, we deserved a little R&R. Cocktails were nicely concocted. If not for it being a little on the noisy side, this is the perfect place to relax after a long day's work in the office (or for us, a long day of traveling).

But thank goodness for the Atlanta charter bus rental service that we used...tired but full, some of us napped our way, in the comfortable air-conditioned bus, back to the hotel. For the best Atlanta charter bus, give US Coachways Inc. a call by dialing 1-877-873-1838 right now!
