Hodad's - San Diego, California

Hodad’s is not a place selling surfboards although the term Hodad is popularly used to refer to someone who wants to become a surfboarder. Instead, surf up a storm in this top San Diego restaurant that serves burger the way it should be served! Hodad’s not one of San Diego’s top bus tour dining destination without a good reason. The whole San Diego diner is decorated with everything related to surfing from memorabilia to jukebox that reminds you of the favorite Californian hobby. Well, actually, although the burgers (and other stuff on their menu as well, for that matter) are fabulous and reasonably priced, it is actually the atmosphere that will leave a very deep impression on you when you make a San Diego bus tour stop here.

The atmosphere is just…so….Southern California! You can sit right outside enjoying the breeze and soaking up the sun while eating. There’s a special booth made out of a VW bus where you can sit on while dining – talk about unique! Everything is fun and exciting here – especially the staff who goes all out of their way to make your bus tour stop as special as possible. They’re outrageous…the staff outrageously funny and the food outrageously good. But it’s not a freak show…not like Dick’s Last Resort. They make it extra comfortable for you while you’re eating there so, the atmosphere is casual and relaxed….as with everything else in this sunny city.

It’s great to make a bus tour stop here at this popular San Diego diner to have a quick burger, onion ring, French fries topped up with ice cold beer before tackling the waves! While you’re there, be sure to try their double-burger as well…fantabulously huge, so much so that one person will have trouble finishing it by himself. This San Diego restaurant is a popular bus tour spot so you can expect a respectable crowd there and be ready for a bit of a wait during peak hours.

Hodad’s San Diego restaurant is located at 5010 Newport Avenue, San Diego, CA 92107-3010. For information and reservations, give them a ring at +1 619 224 4623; Hodad’s open every day of the week from 10.30am till 8.30pm.
