Art Trail, Connecticut

Museums In Connecticut - US Coachways I wasn't much of a fan when it comes to art mainly because I believe that you need to be able to see things from different perspective, be inquisitive about what was going on in the artists' minds at the point of each stroke and every splatter of paint. My mind was changed after renting a charter bus and hitting the Connecticut Art Trail.

Unenthusiastically, I (doubtlessly) had to be persuaded to go on the trail. Little did I know that what I was about to embark on would turn out to be one of the most amazing artistic journeys of my life. The Connecticut Art Trail is a nationally-known partnership (not to me, obviously) between fifteen museums and historical sites in CT. They have all come together, put their ideas together and now offer tourists from afar and holiday merry-makers alike a day-long excursion of immersing in the arts.

In all honestly, who could blame all the artists and impressionist for coming to Connecticut for inspiration. The awesome rolling hills, bended valleys, plush forests and magnetic shoreline – this is where you find young people sitting around in front of their canvases, feeling inspired by the unspoiled natural surrounding that local Connecticut dwellers love.

We were on the bus, going from one museum to another, excited to see what they had in store for us when a thought struck me – this should be the art center of the country! Sticking my head out of the window of the charter bus, I felt inspired too. The fresh air, amazing view out of the window, art-dummy me felt like painting too.

We visited a farm along the way but a very aesthetic one, museums and historical sites which helped us understand and learn more about Connecticut. Gosh, the people here are incredibly charming and laid-back about most things. You'd feel right at home too.

For most parts, it was the art studios which were amazing. But it had a lot to do with the culture too. Connecticut...is simply gorgeous!
