Indiana State Capitol Building (Indianapolis IN)

Thinking of a lazy & languid, impromptu, hardly-planned bus tour romantic holiday trip that doesn’t cost a bomb? Well, I reckon touring Indianapolis by bus is a great idea. And when you’re in Indianapolis, one must-see is the Indiana State Capitol Building. It’s not a theme park, that’s for sure, but it’s still worth the visit. It’s a smashing Renaissance Revival State House which was restored to original condition some time back. You can’t beat free admission; so, make a bus tour stop here while you’re in Indianapolis!

This bus tour attraction in Indianapolis is also a fabulous place to visit if you’re a history buff. You’ll learn loads of things during your bus tour stop here. I mean, this building was completed way back in 1888 and it’s still housing the Indiana General Assembly – talk about history. Apart from a lot walking and watching, it’s such a picturesque place for you to take pictures. The design of the building is really quite awesome. The architect is someone called Edwin May. His design was chosen amongst many other designed submitted for the State Government’s approval at that time. With Edwin May’s design, architect Adolph Scherrer took over and saw to the finishing of the building.

If you’re here, in Indianapolis Indiana with your loved one enjoying a lovely romantic getaway in Indianapolis, all the more reason to make a bus tour stop here. Imagine walking around the many shops hand-in-hand, sitting around watching people go about their daily duties. And then you can take one of the horses and carriage rides around the place for a little bit – it’s just very emotionally and spiritually stimulating.

You don’t have to pay anything to get a simple tour around the buildings. During week days, their guided tours run from 9am till 3pm. During weekends, they run the guided tour around Indianapolis State Capitol Building at 10.15am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm. If you prefer to roam the place in a large group, you can call them up for arrangements.

Indianapolis is a culture-rich place with many modern facets but at the end of the day, culture and history is still a very big part of Indianapolis. So, if you’re having a bus tour holiday to Indianapolis in the near future, be sure to head on over to Corner of Capitol Ave. & Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46204. For info, call 317-233-5293.
