Is it easy getting around in Los Angeles?
The first thing you would have to note and remember is this - Los Angeles is really huge. With that said, moving around using only public transportation is going to be tough. So, if you want to really see, experience, eat and explore as much as you can during your Los Angeles charter bus visit, you will need a rented charter bus. Or at least a car.
I want to feel like a kid again when I am in LA, what tops the list of priorities?
There is no other place that ranks right up there as a ‘happy place’ as Disneyland. We have been told that even for those who have been to other Disneylands in other parts of the country (or the world), LA’s Disneyland is, by far, one of the best that they have been to. Universal Studios ranks up there with DIsneyland so, do both on different days.
What is the most interesting part of LA culture?
Essentially, what you are dealing with is that Los Angeles’s culture is a mixture of many different cultures. You could be walking along a busy street and hear at least three different languages being spoken at any given time. Mexican, Japanese, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, African, Spanish, French...you name it, we have it all here in LA. That is how interesting LA culture is..
Get Swept Up In Style At Dolby Theatre
Nov 8, 2013 -The very moment the name or brand Dolby is mentioned, the image of a power-packed sound system comes to mind. The brand has been around for some time and have quite an impressive branding, product line and following. You can pretty much expect the same quality entertainment (if not better) at Dolby Theatre which is located in Central LA, formerly known as Kodak Theatre, at 6801, Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles.
Many big class world-famous names have performed at Dolby Theatre, including the likes of Celine Dion, Prince, Barry Manilow, and chic and modern Alicia Keys, Tyler Perry and also the whole troupe from American Ballet Theatre. Famous reality talent-seeking show, the great American Idol, have also held their finals at Dolby Theatre in recent years.
You just can’t help but be mesmerized by the sheer elegance and beauty of the place even BEFORE stepping a foot into this astonishing theatre. The theatre actually starts at Hollywood Boulevard itself as the red mosaic tiled floor reminds you of every single red carpet show that you have ever watched on television. It feels surreal to be walking around this modern attraction yourself as you take in all the bling and shine. At the entrance, you are greeted by none other than the towering structure designed and built under the watchful eyes of Rockwell, a renowned LA-based artist.
From the exterior of the building, you would have suspected that there were more than five levels to the building but no, that is not the case. The height of the tall ceilings contributed to this illusion. Many of our Los Angeles charter bus rental customers who had guided tours were enchanted with the grand spiral stairs at the lobby - and who could blame them. It was breathtaking.
We were also well taken with timely reminders of some of the best in Hollywood entertainment via pictures and images of the great Oscar winners like Grace Kelly, Jack Nicholson, Halle Berry and Marlon Brando.
Dolby Theatre offer daily guided tours, seven days a week from 10.30am till 2.30pm. With the small available time frame, we suggest booking a CityPass entrance for the tour and be there on time or you are going to be left behind.
Our conclusion of this irresistible Los Angeles charter bus tour is that it is more about Academy Awards than anything else but it was worth it because of the stories that were told by the guides. They were humorous and willing to share never-heard-before stories of stars walking down the red carpet, how seats were arranged and where celebrities waited and headed to after they won an award. These insider stories makes it truly worth the half hour tour.
So, don’t miss the chance to experience all the glamor for yourself during your Los Angeles charter bus visit. You can’t get more ‘Hollywood’ than this.
The Witch’s House of Beverly Hills
16, 2013 - Things are always larger, bigger,
brighter...and scarier in Los Angeles....especially as the
month of October rolls around. Me and my friends will always
anticipate how we can be more awesome during Halloween than
the year before, trying to up our ante all the time. I bet
this is what most people do too but if you have been to Witch’s
House in Beverly Hills, scary gets bigger during Halloween.
For tourists who come in to visit off-Halloween season, all
the house looks like is merely an old, rickety structure called
Spadena House. To the locals, I think this unique gem is a
lot more than just an old, rickety structure, for sure. In
true LA-style, the Hollywood art director, Harry Oliver, fashioned
this unique structure out to look as dilapidated as possible
so as to give it an old, fall-apart kind of feeling.
In a culture of buying-and-demolishing, I, for one, am absolutely
happy that no one is trying to bring this exceptionally special
building down any time soon. The Beverly Hill real estate
trend right now is to go in, buy, destroy and then build another
home, mansion, or structure in its place. What I am truly
happy about is that authorities in the city have picked up
on the trend and have put a cap on it by way of a city ordinance
which states that certain neighborhood buildings and historical
landmarks are not to be demolished.
Thankfully, the city of Los Angeles have included Spadena
House, among others.
There was a year when we headed over to Spadena House during
Halloween and....we can tell you this....it sure adds another
dimension to the whole experience...and THAT is saying very
little about it.
In 1995, the cast of the film ‘Clueless’ spent
some time filming at the site and architect, Charles Willard
Moore once called Spadena House a house that reminds him deeply
about the fiction story, Hansel and Gretel. So, if you are
around in LA for Halloween, we think visiting this adorable
little house should be included in your itinerary.
What would make the visit even more often if we were allowed
to go into the premise. However, visiting the Witch’s
House during Halloween will add a few more squeals and thrills
to your Halloween. So, go ahead and check the house out at
516, Walden Dr. Beverly Hills, CA 90210 and don’t forget
to take plenty of pictures with the house. And if you need
to give them a call before heading over, pick up the phone
and dial (310) 271-8174.
Do you have your own story about Witch’s House? Please
feel to share it with us in our blog, we would love to hear
it from you.
Staples Center Goes Beyond Being a Mere Event Venue
26, 2013 - Staples Center may be just a sports
and concert venue to some, to others, it is a venue of choice
for a very good reason....it is well-maintained, clean and
the staff is trained to deal with events of just about any
size. Access points in and out of the concert venue is often
said to be well-manned which, to Los Angeles charter bus visitors
and guests, is the saving grace for large events where people
tend to get confused about where is what. Definitely one of
those Los Angeles hidden gems worth mentioning more than once.
Setting the standard high
Staples Center was first established and designed as a sports
and entertainment center of the world. Yes, you read right....the
world. That is primarily the reason why the standard set by
Staples is so high that, even with the technology and know-how
that we have today, few sports and entertainment centers can
match the bar that Staples Center have set. It is also regarded
as home to four professional games from different genres which
are NBA Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles CLippers, Los Angeles
Kings and also Los Angeles Sparks. The spirits of fans and
sportsmen/entertainers are always very high during the games
and concerts therefore, it sets Staples as a home court advantage
against competitors (during sports games).
Staples Center is owned by one of the most well-regarded
agencies in the world, AEG, and the company have distinguished
itself as the venue of choice for most high profile events
held either on a national or international basis. Los Angeles
charter bus events that have been held at Staples includes
2004 and 2011 NBA All-Star game, Democratic National Convention,
Figure Skating Championship and also not to mention a whole
host of X Games Competition as well as GRAMMY Award Shows.
Getting involved with the community
What makes Staples Center stand out is perhaps the choices
that the organizers and management have made over the past
which is to help improve local economic, social and environmental
conditions. They have gone on to step where no other (within
the same industry) have gone by caring for society and the
community around it.
Their concern for these social and industry issues is apparent
when we view how they have set their best practices and it
includes environmentally-friendly methods of doing things.
It is something that does not improve on their profits but
it gives back to society in a way that others have not done
before. The moves includes using renewable energy via solar
panels, energy management, waste management and recycling
efforts, usage of environmentally-friendly cleaning chemicals
and water-free urinals in the restrooms.
It is not just about the fun that you are going to have during
those games and concerts but it is also about a very wholesome
and memorable experience in the end.
Los Angeles Fact File
As we all know, Los Angeles is not called larger than life for nothing. Hollywood, a vibrant night life, endless shopping, long, languid beaches and amazing people coupled with countless number of diners, cafes, restaurants, bars and clubs…if anyone wanted to escape the mundane life of a 9 to 5 job, Los Angeles is the perfect place to be. Don’t believe us, just ask one of our charter bus Los Angeles customers, they will tell you the same thing. At the point of writing this, Los Angeles is home to nearly 3.8 million people and is, doubtlessly, the most populous city in the state of California. In the country, it is second only to New York City.
Because of its sunny weather with regular sunshine throughout the year with only approximately thirty five days of rain, the city is popular with tourists and vacationers from all around the world, with or without a charter bus. Los Angeles, as you see when you get here, has the true drawing power purely because of the people and culture.
Although LA does not have their own NFL team, it has hosted two Summer Olympics in the past. In fact, speaking of Summer Olympics, our charter bus Los Angeles customers are ready for the heat where LA will host the Special Olympics World Summer Games in 2015.
