Wollman Park, in Central Park, New York’s Home for the Holidays

The holiday season is here, and New York City’s winter attractions are ramping up to provide fun and excitement for New Yorkers and the many tourists who visit during the holidays. Every year Wollman Rink draws thousands of visitors who enjoy ice skating.

Ice skating at Wollman Rink in Central Park has remained a tradition since the park opened in 1950. The rink sits on the southeast corner of Central Park and was named after Kate Wollman, who donated the funds to build the rink in commemoration of her family.

Kids of all ages rent skates and tie up their laces so they can glide onto the ice and skate to music. The New York City skyline makes a perfect backdrop whether you skate during the day or in the evening under the lights. The rink’s hours are:

Monday–Tuesday: 10a.m. – 2:30p.m.

Wednesday–Thursday: 10a.m. – 10p.m.
